Havre de Grace Independence Day Parade

Sunday, July 5th, 2026 - 2:00 p.m. 

PARADE RULES:
  1. The parade will be held Sunday, July 5th at 2:00 p.m

  2. All entries are selected and participate at the sole discretion of the Havre de Grace Independence Day Commission. To maintain parade timing and diversity of entries, there will be a limit to the number of participants in each parade category. Priority acceptance and parade placement will be given to Havre de Grace community groups, Havre de Grace non-profit organizations, and Havre de Grace businesses. 

  3. Units must maintain their assigned position and spacing throughout the parade. There should be no stopping during the parade. Please maintain a steady pace to maintain parade flow.

  4. Colors should be properly displayed. Flag display code must be adhered to at all times.

  5. All parade units should be safe, decorated and have entertainment value to the crowd. Appropriate dress and behavior are required at all times. 

  6. Animals participating in the parade must be kept under control.  All equestrian units must provide clean-up for their animals. 

  7. All units must display identification for judging purposes. Judging will be conducted  by independent judges seated at the grandstand at the intersection of Union Avenue and Pennington Avenue.  Winning parade entries will be published on our website – www.hdgjuly4th.com, and on our Facebook page “Havre de Grace Independence Day Commission”. 

  8. The parade is a rain or shine event. In the event of severe inclement weather, parade information will be emailed to participants and will be advertised on our Facebook page, “Havre de Grace Independence Day Commission”.

After you are selected for participation in this year's parade, you can expect to hear from our Parade Chair, Taryn Martin.

Lineup maps and instructions will be mailed to the address on your application on

June 22, 2026.
